We were so privileged to take part in such a fantastic show in Windsor on 29th November. It was a cold night, but the welcome from our hosts The Royal Harmonics was as warm and lovely as their singing. Portobello Road were very entertaining and sang so well….a ‘boy band’ second only on the night to Ringmasters who treated us all to a masterclass in a cappella singing. The concert took place in the town’s parish church which is a wonderful building with great acoustics, close by to Windsor Castle. The first half was a musical journey of song. The ‘Monics, Portobello Road and Signature flowed on and off stage for two or three songs at a time, all linked by an informative and often humorous narrative from one of barbershop’s national treasures, Paul Davies. The second half belonged to Ringmasters, over from Sweden to entertain and entrance with some awesome vocals that just seemed effortless. We will remember it for a very long time, and from the feedback we had from the audience as we headed off to the afterglow, so will everyone there. It was a great night, ‘Monics – thanks for the invitation!
